Halloween Make Up Ideas: Halloween is just around the corner, and it’s time to awake the ghoul and goblin in you! You could soon be eating lots of pumpkin pie smothered in cream, or you’ll be carving Jack-O’-Lanterns on your lawn, or you’ll be going trick or treating with your buddies.
Trick or treating is probably the most fun and exciting part of
Halloween, but what’s trick or treating without the costumes?
Dressing up and playing ugly and scary (or
ultra-gorgeous and hot) during Halloween is simply fun, whether you’re a
kid or grown-up. You will have to rent out costumes or make your own,
and you will have to do your own makeup if you don’t want to spend top
dollar in having a professional do it for you. But have no fear:
Halloween makeup is actually easy to do if you have all the right
equipment.
All you need is a good imagination and some scary Halloween makeup ideas!!
First, put together a special Halloween makeup kit. You need to stock up on the reds, so get some red lipsticks, lip liners or red face paint. You can also make your own fake blood by mixing in red food coloring with sugar syrup. Stock up on the blacks as well: get black eye shadow, eye liner and black face paint. Have some hypoallergenic
modelling wax ready, and you’re good to go!
Here are a few scary
Halloween makeup ideas that can put the monster back in your mayhem!
Injury is so in! Blood is all the rage during Halloween, so if you want to look like you’ve been smashed by a chainsaw or hacked by an axe, put some
modelling wax on your face and create illusions of deeply cut areas. Color the edges of these fake cuts with red or purple, depending on how hold you want the wound to be. Add some streaks of blood sliding out of the wound and onto your shirt. If you like, you can have plastic axes or arrows in your costume: just line the pretend wounds with blood and make them look like they’re gushing out (or dried for a hundred years, which is even more scary!).
Howl at Halloween! Not all werewolves need to look like oversized fur coats, so keep that
modelling wax ready and make sure it’s brown. It’s time to turn you into a furry beast! Just put on the
modelling wax and make sure that it furrows on your forehead, so that you look like a dog; and on the sides of your mouth, so that it seems that you’re growing a snout. Imagine the fright of your neighbors when they see you in the middle of the process of turning into a werewolf!
Vampires never go out of style. Get the white makeup or face paint ready and make sure that you cake it on. When you have reached the point of utter, un-dead pallor, put on some dark eyeliner, then some heavy read makeup. If you have black contact lenses, so much the better! The key is to look gothic, with a bit more blood than usual. Smear some red lipstick or imitation blood on your mouth, or put a bit of lipstick on your teeth. Now you look like you’ve recently had a good vampire meal!
Get creative with makeup – with aliens, there’s no limit! Have some gold makeup, silver lining, or even multi-colored
eye shadow? It’s time to play with colors and pretend that you’re from
another civilization. Half your face could be glittery, and the other
half could be pure white. Or you could put on stripes and pretend to
come from a zebra planet – just add some blood to look like a man-eating
zebra alien! The choice is yours!
