My avatar is not the best tiger I've ever done but it's the first time I caught myself painting with my left hand. Even though I'm right handed I go a lot of things with my left hand like typing here. Maybe if I had thought about it and done it it would be worst but for something unthinking it wasn't a total mess. Does anyone else paint with both hands?

Cool! That's awesome - I definitely can't paint with my left hand - am hopeless!! lol

This sounds like a good competition idea though :-)

I have never even tried.... I think my left hand has a mind of it's own.

I'll sponge with my left but forget about brush work. Have tried it a little just to practice and I can get some passable swirls and teardrops but I've still got a long way and a lot of practice before I would even consider trying it on the "job".

Don't understand what the problem is, I find it very easy to paint left handed, but I have an advantage- I AM LEFT HANDED! Sorry I just couldn't resist that :) lol

I'm such a klutz with my RIGHT hand! I have such a hard time with masks because of this... Doing the left side of a child's face is so challenging for me but no one but me knows that!

Had I not forgotten my password, I would have posted this "serious" reply sooner! Don't know the reason you need to paint with the opposite hand but a great way to learn is to put a brush in both hands and start (without paint) doing equal and opposite strokes. First FOCUS on your right hand and let the left one "copy" then FOCUS on the left hand while the right hand mirrors. Sounds weird but works. IF the reason is to match sides, do your easy side first, place a mirror so you can see that side while you paint the other side . You'll get to paint exactly the same way as the first because the mirror has reversed the image for you. Try it. Easier to do than type!!!

It sure would be awesome to be able to use both hands! I just might try it!

I like the mirror idea. The left side is never as smooth as the right. I can see how the would help. I will give it a try.
Thanks
