Step 1: Create a light brown base color by loading sponge with DFX white and then loading with DFX brown in the same area on the sponge. Apply base to entire face.
Step 2: Using a #4 Round brush, draw a line for the mouth in DFX black. Add small black vertical lines along the black mouth line. Then add 2 circles with DFX red at either end of the black line smile using the same size brush- these will be “buttons”.
Step 3: Using a #1 round brush, loaded with DFX black, outline the buttons and add an X in the middle with a small black dot at end of each cross mark of the X.
Step 4: Paint a candy corn on the bridge of the nose using a #2 round brush and first DFX white, then orange, then yellow. Each one layered on the other to form an elongated triangle. Outline in DFX black.
Step 5: Using a #5 round brush, paint DFX dark blue circles on the eyes, going just above the eyebrows.
Step 6: Using a #2 round brush loaded with DFX white, add highlights to each red button. Step 7: Using a #4 round brush, loaded with DFX brown, add lines along the bottom jaw line which will be burlap sack pull lines.
Step 8: Using a #4 round brush loaded with DFX yellow, make irregular fast strokes at the forehead to create straw hair. Then load the same brush with DFX brown and repeat over the yellow at different angles.
Step 9: Using a #2 round brush loaded with DFX black, casually outline “straw” pieces here and there.
