Fundraiser For Wendy

Hey there, I just received an email from a good friend and collegue Michelle Drinnan from VIC, Australia. She asked me to spread the word about a fundraiser she is helping to put on for a very worthy cause so I had to share that email with you all…

Wendy’s dream is to have grandchildren. Unfortunately her daughter (Kristi) has many probs with her uterus and can’t conceive naturally. Then Wendy came down with cancer, beat it, got more, beat that one, etc etc.

Kristi saved up for IVF, which failed, and then again and again. Finally, Wendy used the last of her savings to pay for one last round of IVF, and somehow Kristi fell pregnant. … Then a few months later, they discovered cancer in Wendy’s liver and gave her about 3 months to live if she’s lucky.

They have discovered a new drug called SERT which will keep her alive for at least a year or so, enough for her to meet her grand daughter, but it comes with a 10 grand price tag, and of course, she spent all her money on paying for Kristi to get pregnant in the first place!!

SO!! Kristi and I are organizing a big fundraising day on Sunday 11th October 2009, with free entertainment, activities, etc – basically like a festival – anything we can do to raise the $$.  We have heaps of stuff able to be auctioned, and all drink sales as profit, plus a few more things. But Entertainment is free, in hope that people will stay there longer and drink more and buy more raffles tickets.
