“Doodlebug” – SF Competition
Sent in by Nancy Gervais
As a graphic designer, I work in front of a computer for 8 hours a day. As a result of this, I am always on the lookout for more “hands-on” ways to express myself creatively. It wasn¹t until an impulse purchase of a face painting kit in 2005 that I found my true passion. Painting on a living, breathing person was not an easy transition, but after much practice and many parties I learned the ins and outs of painting on a “living canvas.”
Although I am currently working on promoting my business on the internet and through local networks, most of my bookings come to me through word of mouth. I
t is very rewarding when I receive a job in this manner, knowing that someone was pleased enough with my work to recommend me to someone they know. The happiness I see on a child¹s face once I have completed their transformation brings me great pleasure, and even more rewarding is the number of parents who shyly step forward and ask if they too, can be painted!
I have drawn so much inspiration and learnt so much from your website, and I look forward to new posts in the future. Keep up the good work you are an inspiration to us all!

Hi Nancy! I just looked at your website and it looks great! Since we aren’t located too far away from each other, I’m definitely going to give you a call whenever I get a job that requires two facepainters. Hope all is well! Keep up the great work!
