Here you go, my photos from Wonder Down Under! My favs are the body paintings…the one with the Aussie flag with a koala is Mark Reids, the ragedy anne doll/clown is Yolanda Bartrams and the Purple Wonder Down Under Girl was painted by Lynne Jamieson! Enjoy!
If you like, send in your photos of the convention, and I’ll put them up on the blog!
And, I’d love to hear what you think, so please…leave comments on this post!

TOTALLY AWESOME!!!!! Wish I could have been there. Artwork was Delicious…..
That looks like it was an awesome time. Your brief slide show was simply spectacular. If my three kids would sit still long enough or would allow me to apply paint in as many sessions as it needed I would have them looking similar all the time.

Hi Philadelphia,
After reading all the positive remarks on the convention, I only wish I could have been there. However, I could not see your pictures because the message on the blog says: “We’re sorry, this video is no longer available.”
Can you resolve this problem?

WOW! Thank you guys for all the lovely comments!! I’m so glad you liked my little slideshow! I had a fabulous time, and can’t wait for Heather and Marcelas FABAIC Orlando Convention in May next year!
To answer some questions that came up:
Shil Kupershteyn Says: Now that was all handpainted or airbrushed??
Me: It was ALL hand painted, isn’t that amazing?
danielle Says: …is there ever such a convention near upstate New York or Montreal Canada? Im right in between and i would love to attend one.
Me: There sure is, Colormundo http://www.colormundo.com in Montreal and if you want to travel definately go to Face and Body Art International Convention http://www.Fabaic.com in Orlando, I’m going and its going to be amazing!
Leroy Says: … just wondering did u model for any body art?
Me: hehehehe didn’t you recognize me?? I modelled for Mark Reid – the aussie flag and koala, yolanda bartrams ragedy anne clown and lynne jamiesons purple wonder down under! Have a look at the slideshow again, its me I swear!!
Hello Philadelphia,
The pictures were great! I hope to be able to advance my facepainting skills. I’m a new clown and the children love facepainting!
I am now able to see your video and it is just great. I had the opportunity to see body painting in my city about a month ago. The painting was done around a Jungle Theme with over 30 International artists participating.. It was just superb as was your convention’s paintings. You are a great model.
Vi
THERE WERE STUPENDUS DESIGNS!!
I love the body art. If someone has a problem with them then either they shouldn’t look or deal with it. It is no different than the “Old Masters” painting women in the nude. The way I see it the nipples are covered so what’s the problem? I really loved them and wished I was able to go to the Orlando convention.
Wonderful artistry. http://facepaintingtips.com/blog/2008/10/09/body-art-controversy-am-i-in-trouble/#comment-3121
As an artist you have to look at things a certain way. Some people only see the bad in anything, others, like us, see the beauty in it. I think that if you find anything in it besides art and beauty you are thinking on the wrong side of the tracks. The body is just another form of canvas.
Anyway, I think you are perfectly fine doing what you do and keep doing it!

If they dont like, dont look.
