Clown Turned Face Painter
Sent in by Cheryl M. Henderson
My name is Mrs. Bunny, The Clown! I’m fairly new at face painting because my clown business just started about 3 years ago. I must say face painting has not been easy for me because I’m not a very good artist. In fact, I’m not an artist at all! My drawings were limited to paper dolls and stick figures. It was pitiful!
As I studied to be a clown, I saw that face painting was a highlight of the business. I knew I was in trouble. I started practicing with markers, but the color wasn’t vibrant enough and my designs were limited. I honestly didn’t know what to do to improve my skills. I wanted to take classes, but where can you find such classes? That’s when the light bulb came on: check online! That’s where I found facepaintingtips.com! It was a life saver! What I learned was immeasurable! I began practicing everyday for hours. Little by little the skill started developing. Although I’m not at the caliber that you guys are, I can now turn a simple flower into something dazzling!
For people like me who were not born with artistic gifts, the help I have received from facepaintingtips.com have taken my abilities to new heights. I am very grateful to you all!
My Bio:
My name is Cheryl M. Henderson. I was born January 29th in St. Louis, MO. I love kids and love to make people laugh. Being a clown just fits my personality. My friends say that I was born to the part. I wonder if Ive been insulted??

cheryl,
i think that is wonderful. aah to be a clown, it must be such a joyful job! i think it’s excellent that you went forward and did research! too often in this world we never bother to take the time to learn about what we are trying to do. we are never too old to learn new tricks, and everyone’s motto should be such, when we stop learning we stop growing. congrats on your funfilled occupation and keep practicing!
I couldn’t agree with you more Dana!
‘When we stop learning we stop growing’ it is so important to keep learning no matter what stage you’re at, there is always more to learn, and more than enough room to grow!

Howdy All!
I was surprised and pleased when I checked the blog today and saw my big, white clown face! I got all excited and e-mail everyone I knew to go online and take a look! I almost hyperventilated! LOL
Dana, thanks for the encouraging words. You’re right. We are never too old to learn. I should know because I’m turning 50 on the 29th!
I would encourage anyone who has a heart for face painting, but don’t have the necessary skills to keep at it. Don’t give up. The ability will come slowly, but it will come. Don’t ignore ANYTHING that has to do with face painting! Read all that you find! Practice, practice, practice! I have a face painting job tomorrow and I have been practicing all week.
This is suppose to be a job, but I’m having so much fun that I feel like I’m cheating!

Hi Jilly!
I recently came across your website and it is fantastic! I got the info on your website about the clown meetings and I was very impressed with how you, well…operate! And you look so pretty in your costume! I havene’t read it all yet, but I will. I didn’t know about the face painting jams at the Brentwood Community Center, but I will check it out. Thanks a lot, girl!
