Want to make your face painting designs look more 3D? They’ll instantly look more professional! Here’s the trick… it’s all about shadow and light. Practice with something simple, like say a red circle. Paint a red circle then think about where you want the light to be shining from, and where on the circle its shining. Then paint that part a lighter red (or even white), and from that point outwards let the red gradually get darker. ![]()
It should begin to look like a sphere instead of just a circle, then once you’re confident with this face painting technique, you can apply it to parts of your favorite face painting designs!

What a help this was! As I read the instructions on how to make a face paint object appear 3-D, the how-to image became so real that I said out loud, “Oh, man, that is so cool!” I’m glad I was the only one home!
