What I like most is that these designs offer a nice foundation. There will always be room to add details according to the artist’s whim & creativity. Perhaps, one day, Philadelphia will offer a more advanced technique/design e-book or videos. I think there’s a lot of potential for growth here!

To answer Laura’s question: I can’t show you Disney Characters because of copyright infringment. You’re not likely as a face painter to be sued by disney because you painted minnie mouse on a couple of kids, but as a web business that sells guides, I’d rather play it safe.

This little butterfly is so pretty and quick to do – ideal for the wriggly child or the first-timer who isn’t too brave to have their whole face painted. Several of the same in varying sizes, like a flock of butterflies, would look good too as would a few embellishments in gold or silver or even maybe little stick-on jewels for an older child or teenager wanting to look glam!

Thanks for the tips, i facepainted at a grand opening of a new bakery last weekend, and so many of the little ones just wanted a spider or butterfly on their arms! It saves time too! ..have any tips for a small but great looking spider? some of mine came out looking more like a crab!…kids still liked them tho. Im trying my painting at the markets tomorrow.

I learnt to use this design for butterfly with you guys. It has been heaven on earth since then. I’ve painting half of a butterfly on half of the face and it has saved me a lot of time and also looks way better thaen the ones i used to make. This little one is also a life saver. Hi Phil….thanks for all the tips you have patiently been sending…sincerely appreciate them. Your tips are great and have been really useful. I love the videos too. Great ideas to simplify face painting !!
Recently i saw a friend of mine using a simple method to draw multi tone flower petals…it was as first and so easy.
Just have to load the brush 1st with the colour that you want to be the core of the flower and than load with the next (not immersing entire brush) and third colour on the tip (if you desire). Than all you have to do is press the brush (tip facing out) and make equal 5 or 6 petals…and you get a great flower. I am sure you would already know this ..:)

I LOVE the lessons. The website offered i have not been able to open, thus no response from me, that is why I have replied to this website. Hope this goes thru OK. I clown at the hospital as well as other places and face painting is such fun.
